Southern passenger hall of Botanical garden metro station was closed for major renovation on May 16th 2015. During construction period passenger hall was modernised to be in line with latest architectural trends and was equipped with most up to date technology. Old Soviet made escalators have been replaced with the new ones. They are safe, modern and fully compliant with latest safety requirements for public transport.

Apart from that southern passenger hall building was completed rebuild. New glass windows were installed as well as state of the art fare collection gates UT-2000.9 designed and manufactured by CJSC ELSY. In addition all cabling, video surveillance systems, fire alarms were upgraded to comply with current standards.
